Privacy Policy

Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the PAI mobile app, in-app features, public legal pages, support interactions, analytics, notifications, and related services operated by PAI.

Personal information means information that identifies you, relates to you, describes you, or can reasonably be linked to you directly or indirectly.

Processing means collecting, using, storing, sharing, protecting, deleting, or otherwise handling personal information.

Our privacy commitment

PAI is designed for an LGBTQ+ community context where identity, location, social graph, and community participation may be sensitive.

PAI aims to collect and use information only where it helps operate the app, make the network useful, improve safety, support product quality, or comply with legal obligations.

Some features require sharing information with other users. You should carefully consider what you add to your profile, what you post, who you message, and what location context you make available.

Information we collect

We collect account and authentication information such as email address, authentication provider, user ID, login metadata, account creation date, session information, and basic security information.

We collect profile information you choose to provide, including full name, date of birth, photos, life status, relationship status where available, industries, job titles, companies, work or study information, home bases, current or visiting location, interests, optional social links, and other optional profile fields.

We collect content and activity created in the app, including posts, comments, mentions, community items where available, direct messages, photos, audience filters, reports, feedback, block actions, connection requests, accepted connections, profile views or interactions where available, and interactions with other users.

We collect technical and operational data such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address where available through service infrastructure, basic device identifiers, analytics events, crash reports, performance data, push notification tokens, and logs needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

We may collect information from third-party authentication providers, app stores, operating systems, maps or location services, analytics providers, crash monitoring providers, support tools, and infrastructure providers when those services are used to operate PAI.

Sensitive information

PAI is built for a gay and social community context. Some information you provide or reveal through use of the app may be sensitive or considered special category information in some jurisdictions, including sexual orientation, identity, relationship status, social graph, community participation, messages, and location context.

You choose what to add to your profile and what to share in posts, comments, and messages. Some features may require certain information to work properly.

Do not include information in your profile, posts, comments, or messages that you do not want other users to know, save, screenshot, or infer.

Location data

PAI uses location to make discovery, feed relevance, audience targeting, and local network experiences useful.

PAI stores city and country information for location-based features, including home bases, current or visiting location context, post audience matching, and location arrivals.

Some location features may also store latitude and longitude internally, for example to detect meaningful travel between cities or prevent repeated arrival prompts. PAI does not show exact GPS coordinates to other users.

Your home base and current or visiting location may affect which people and posts you see, and which users can see your location-relevant activity.

PAI does not need to show exact coordinates to other users for location to matter. Location-based discovery, travel plans, arrivals, and feed relevance can still allow others to infer that you are in or connected to a city, country, or nearby context.

You can control device-level location permission through your phone settings. If location access is disabled, some location-based features may be limited.

Profile visibility and community sharing

PAI is a social network. Profile information, photos, home bases, current or visiting location context, posts, comments, and other activity may be visible to other users depending on the feature, your settings, the audience of a post, and the viewer’s eligibility.

Other users may be able to identify you based on your profile information, photos, writing style, location context, mutual connections, posts, comments, or messages.

Blocking and privacy controls can limit some interactions, but they cannot remove information already seen, copied, screenshotted, cached, or saved by another user.

Dynamic post visibility

PAI posts may be published into dynamic contexts rather than fixed recipient lists.

Audience rules can include network scope, location, location status, profile attributes, and other filters. A viewer can become eligible or ineligible to see a post when their profile or location state changes.

For example, someone who arrives in Berlin may start seeing posts targeted to people visiting Berlin, while someone who leaves Berlin may stop seeing those posts.

Messages and user content

Direct messages are shared with the recipient and processed by PAI to deliver messaging, notifications, moderation, abuse prevention, and support.

You are responsible for the content you share. PAI may remove content that violates the Terms of Service, safety rules, or applicable laws.

Deleting content in one place may not remove copies already seen, saved, screenshotted, cached, or retained by another user.

Reported content may be retained and reviewed for safety, moderation, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes.

How we use information

PAI uses information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, display profiles to other users, enable messaging and community interaction, calculate audience eligibility, improve discovery, personalize relevant app experiences, deliver notifications, maintain safety, operate the service, debug problems, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

PAI may use information to investigate reports, enforce the Terms of Service, detect spam or suspicious behavior, protect users, protect the service, respond to legal requests, and defend legal claims.

PAI may anonymize, aggregate, or de-identify information so that it no longer reasonably identifies you, and may use such information for analytics, product improvement, safety, and operational purposes.

PAI does not sell your personal information.

Analytics and monitoring

PAI uses product analytics and crash monitoring to understand usage, diagnose problems, improve performance, detect abuse, and support launch readiness.

Analytics may include events such as screen views, feature usage, post creation steps, onboarding progress, filter usage, connection actions, notification interactions, and other app activity.

Crash and performance monitoring may include technical logs, stack traces, device details, app version, and limited contextual information needed to diagnose errors.

Current analytics are intended for product and operational improvement, not behavioral advertising. PAI does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs or sell/share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

AI and automated processing

PAI does not currently use personal messages, profile information, sensitive profile fields, or post content to train general-purpose AI models.

During post creation, PAI may use AI to suggest tags such as topics, locations, and intent labels. For this feature, PAI sends only a redacted excerpt of the post text, capped at 1,200 characters, together with allowed topic options and location options that were already selected or detected by city or full label in the post text.

Before this AI request is made, PAI redacts obvious contact details from the post text, including email addresses, URLs, social handles, phone-like numbers, and long account or card-like numbers.

For AI tag suggestions, PAI does not send your account email, user ID, display name, profile information, sexual preference or identity profile fields, photos, friend graph, post audience selection, direct messages, or authentication token to the AI provider.

Automated redaction may not catch every sensitive detail typed directly into a post, such as a person’s name, health information, identity details, or sexual preference. You should avoid typing private details into posts if you do not want them processed for tag suggestions.

PAI may use automated processing for ordinary product operations such as feed eligibility, audience matching, filtering, search, recommendations, abuse prevention, analytics, notifications, and safety tooling.

If PAI introduces AI-powered personalization, generative AI, or AI training features that materially change how personal information is used, PAI will update this policy and provide additional notice or controls where required.

Data storage and security

PAI uses Supabase infrastructure for authentication, database storage, and media storage. Profile photos and uploaded media are stored in secure cloud storage.

PAI uses access controls, database policies, authentication, monitoring, and operational safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is fully secure. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

Security, safety, privacy, blocking, reporting, and visibility features are designed to reduce risk, but they cannot guarantee anonymity, confidentiality, personal safety, or error-free operation.

Notifications

PAI stores push notification tokens to send notifications about messages, friend requests, accepted connections, comments, mentions, location arrivals, and other app activity.

You can control push permissions through your device settings.

How we share information

PAI shares information with other users when needed to provide social features, including profiles, posts, comments, messages, connection requests, accepted connections, location-relevant activity, and audience-limited content.

PAI shares information with service providers that help operate the app, such as hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, crash monitoring, push notifications, maps or location services, support, security, and engineering tools.

PAI may share information if required to comply with legal obligations, enforce the Terms of Service, investigate abuse, respond to lawful requests, protect the rights or safety of users or the public, or protect PAI’s service and operations.

If PAI is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this policy.

PAI does not currently share personal information with third-party advertising networks for behavioral advertising.

Third-party services

PAI may use service providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; OpenAI or another AI provider for limited post tag suggestions; Sentry for crash and error monitoring; PostHog for product analytics; Expo or platform push services for notifications; Apple, Google, or other providers for authentication or platform services; and maps or location services where needed for location features.

The specific providers used by PAI may change over time as the product evolves.

Third-party services process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data processing commitments where applicable.

International processing

PAI and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than the country where you live.

Those countries may have privacy and data protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction.

Where required, PAI will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Data retention

PAI retains personal information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain accounts, operate features, preserve safety, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain backups, and support legitimate business operations.

If you delete your account, your profile will no longer be available as an active profile and your profile data will be removed or anonymized according to PAI’s deletion process.

Some information may be retained after deletion where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, moderation history, banned account enforcement, dispute resolution, backups, analytics, or to protect users and the service.

Messages, posts, comments, or media already seen, saved, screenshotted, cached, or retained by another user may remain outside PAI’s control even after account deletion.

Your controls

You can edit profile information, delete your account, block or unblock users, report users or content where available, and control location and notification permissions through your device.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain personal information.

Some rights may be limited where fulfilling a request would affect another person’s privacy, conflict with legal obligations, interfere with safety or security, or require retaining information for fraud prevention, moderation, dispute resolution, or compliance.

PAI may need to verify your identity or account ownership before completing certain privacy requests.

Cookies and similar technologies

PAI is currently primarily a mobile app and does not currently operate a behavioral advertising cookie program.

Public web pages, analytics tools, hosting services, or future web features may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, log files, or similar technologies for essential operation, security, analytics, performance, or user experience.

If PAI introduces a broader website, cookie banner, advertising tools, or cross-site tracking in the future, this policy will be updated and additional controls will be provided where required.

Age requirement

PAI is intended for users 18 years and older.

PAI does not knowingly collect data from minors.

If you believe a minor has created an account or provided personal information to PAI, contact gayglobalnetwork@gmail.com so appropriate action can be taken.

Changes to this policy

PAI may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

PAI will notify users of significant changes within the app where appropriate.

The latest version of this policy will govern PAI’s use of personal information from the effective date of the updated policy.
